altered states chocolate-lime black bean chili

ingredients:

  • 2 big cans of organic black beans
  • 1 big can organic tomato puree
  • 1 big can organic whole stewed tomatoes
  • 3 medium yellow onions
  • 1 big bunch garlic
  • 1 red, 1 green bell pepper
  • 2 limes
  • 1 bottle of merlot
  • chili powder
  • soy sauce
  • cocoa powder
  • salt
  • brown sugar
  • hot peppers
  • several high priced dark chocolate bars

directions:

In a stock pot combine black beans, tomatoes and chili powder.

Chop onions, garlic and peppers and add.

Squeeze juice of the limes into chili, add a shot of merlot (after filling your glass), a splash of soy, and a dusting of cocoa powder.

Simmer for a while, then add salt, sugar and hot peppers to taste.

Break up the dark chocolate bars (toss a few chunks into the chili) and put them in a bowl to be served with french press coffee for dessert.

note:

merlot combined with dark chocolate and coffee may induce altered body and mental states including twitching and crass rudeness. I recommend a round of tai chi before bed to calm the nerves.
